18.2.16 / Be quick to listen and slow to talk.

I am writing this blog post after having a mini panic attack. I had some issues with my HTML coding and asked for help from my......lets call him Ssanyu. So of course, I took a screenshot of what I needed help with. Mind you, he knows that I have a blog, but doesn't know the domain. It dwelt on me seconds later after I sent the screenshot that my domain is showing. LOL. Anyways, he acted like as if he doesn't notice. So, as you can see, I have changed my domain.

Soooooo, on today's topic; be quick to listen and slow to talk, which is somehow connected to my incident. I was reading the book of Proverbs chapter 1 with a dear friend and came across verse 5 KJV:

"A wise [man] will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels"

The verse simply states that a man of understanding will quickly counsel a even wiser and older man for guidance. They will get guidance from someone wiser who has experienced the same thing. Thus dodging many mistakes.
In modern days, wisdom means something entirely different that what it did in the Hebrew times. Wisdom was not knowledge alone, but also a "skill of living", a profession. In those times, it was carpentry, tailoring, metalwork and woodwork, spinning, engraving and designing, and warfare. Used metaphorically, it refers to the skill to live life successfully. So what is you skill in life? Whats is your purpose in life? What is your wisdom? I will make a post about this later. We will go through how to find your purpose in life; thanks to the late Dr. Myles Munroe.
Further on, understanding is the art of knowing what is good or bad, false or true, what matters and what doesn't matter.

Whether you're a believer or not, I strongly advise you to read the book of Proverbs. Here is a more understanding of what the book is about:

And for me and my mini panic attack, I´ve learnt that I should be quick to be more observant and slow to act to the situation. Kinda. If you get my drift.

17.2.16 / Bro´s before H*es?

So last night after Bible study, I came home and was hoping got a message from that special someone. He did leave a message and he mentioned he can´t talk alot since he has his friend over. His friend is visiting him over from a different city. Thus he cant be on the phone too much because "its rude to be on the phone. You know how Africans are. I thought you knew this."

When does the rule Bro´s before H*es apply? To which extent? I asked a male friend about this. His argument was that family is over everything. There wasn't a simple doubt he wouldn't put his bro before any other female. Why?

1. Because he was been through alot more with him than her.
But that gets me thinking; does that still apply when you've been through an equal amount of sh*t with your significant other as your super bro?

2. Women come and go. Well, so do friends. Men. Pets. Cars. Everything in life.

3. I mentioned earlier; his opinion was at family is over everything. And once he is to marry his significant other, she is considered family. BUT, friends are family. You aren't necessary married to them to make them family.

We both concluded with that it all depends on whom you´ve been through alot with. Thus, the rule doesn't apply all the time. Further on, family isn't always everything.

What are your thoughts on this?

16.2.16

Well, I didn't have alot to do today. I didn't have classes today, so I stayed home. I woke up at 10. I cant really remember what time I slept. Besides, I had a glass of wine last night and that knocked me off. I don't know if Ive mentioned this before, but I'm not much of a drinker. After one glass, I already feel tipsy. Well, I didn't have alot to eat last night. But 9 times out of 10, that's the case each time I drink.

So yeah, back to my day today. Nothing happened today. De rien. Kinda depressing, but I feel like I need some time alone. And I am a loner. I´ve have almost perfected being a loner. But heyyyyy, don't get me wrong. I enjoy company, parties, gatherings and socials events. But there are those times where you just need to be alone. No phone calls. No Whatsapp, Viber, Snapchat, Instagram and whatever IM app there is out there. And I enjoy that. Just music, your favorite shows etc. Ice cream!! But didn't have any of that today. I had tea and chapatis. I am low on money and my rent is due in some days. 600 dollars. I lost my job back in October, so all my savings are used. I know, I know, I can and could ask my parents for assistance, but I don't want to be a burden, you know. At my age, I should at least be on my own feet by now. But......the oil industry is messed up now. And I am doing my masters. Even finding a small part time job is nearly impossible to get now. I am afraid I might have to break my lease and move back in with my parents. And that means leaving St. Avanger, my studies, friends. And I am not ready for all of that. I love this city (but don't tell Firenze that hehe).

Yet, I am calm. I am certain God will turn things around. He has made a breakthrough for me before and who is to say he wont do the same thing again?

I am in love. Thought I should mention that. I have been so for nearly 3 years now. At the moment he is further away than he normally is. So it isnt easy for me. Distance. Mehhh. Two nights ago, we kinda had an argument. No screaming or such. He believes I am imagining him to be someone else. This perfect guy who is eventually marry me. A ring and all. I assured him I already know this from before. And honestly, the notion frightens me. Marriage. You HAVE to be certain before diving in. So what if you are certain at the time, but as time goes by, you find out you´re not? I do support marriage. But also courtship. Leaving together. No legal papers defining your relationship. I would rather have a small tattoo than a ring. A tattoo will last, while a ring can easily be removed and forgotten.

Anyways, I might go for bible study last this evening.
Later :)

The Tide and The Moon

Drifting slowly
Waves
Tides of summer so unforgiving
The time we were gentle
Where I was your moon
Where you were my tide
